The rituals of transfer…
Consider the following story. The elements are apt to get in the way, but think abstractly about what it tells, other than the details. Escape the particular.
A man, the father enters the area, let us say it is a building with large arches and colored glass windows. Accompanyin him, his daughter. They join each other just outside the chambered room and begin walking down the carpet laid out through the middle of this room. As they walk, music begins and plays throughout their slow grand walk. At the end of the room, on a separate space a few people are waiting the father and daughter. The daughter is wearing special clothes. Clothes that she has never worn before, nor will she wear them again. These clothes may be the most expensive, the grandest clothes she has ever worn. Certainly this is a dressing which has been very fused over, involving several fittings, many people have been asked their opinon. Many women have worked to make this moment memorable. They want to participate in the memory, in this they may see their own renewal. themself renewed. The father leaves his daughter with the group at the focal point. Words are said and jewelry is exchanged. The transfer has been made. The daughter walks out of the room, traveling the same path in, retracing her steps, but this time with her husband. They arrived separate, but leave together.
Sounds good. Sound about right?
Try this one on.
A man walks into a large area marked by boundaries with several people sitting around a center space. The man is walking along side his cow. He guides the animal gently and easily to the focus, the center of the large open space. There he leave the cow and walks off to the side. The ceremony begins and shortly ends with a trransaction taking place. The cow is walked out of the arena by its new owner. A new day, another transfer. The details make the differences, but their origins are the same. Out past lives, our remote foggy principals and rituals are wrapped and scented, but they stand upon the same platform. The basis of our joining together is an exchange of value. We claim it has higher value, but the full measure is held by the agent not by the actors in these rituals.
The power is in the transfer agent. The house always wins is the saying among gamblers, and real estate agents.
The church grants ownership in the case of wife.
The market grants ownership in the case of ZZcow.
