The red dots are the heavier bombs. The big ones. Data is from US Air Force Data sets covering the years 1965 – 1975. This data DOES NOT depict all the bombs dropped since during some intense raids or “seeding” operations the US Air Force database doesn’t record the detail drop information. There isn’t data available for operations by other “Air Forces” such as Air Forces of the Republic of South Vietnam, Royal Lao, Thai, Khmer FANK, Mong and CIA (Igloo White & Air America).
Notice the density of bombs in Cambodia. These were dropped to stop the “central communist command” . Too bad that the communists didn’t use “command and control” structures like our US Army (MACV)
The bombs certainly helped the fall of Cambodia to the communists. This is a result of trying to get out of one country by spreading the war to two other countries “while we’re still in power.”
Some of the lessons that were learned in Vietnam. Just not learned by our Bushovics.
