The purpose in our invasion of Iraq is simple. Two winkles in the folded vision have distorted the narrative, but not the theme.
Thematic element one: I am afraid to make another mistake. I don’t want others to know I am weak, without a grand purpose. My life must have meaning. This is the theme from the drunken cowardly cub.
The second thematic element: I have their attention, I will use it for my goal, which is to fulfill the only legitimate purpose of government, the projection of power by military expression. The night watchman carries a club, a nucular club. This theme is a theme from the small soldiers, the ice cream combatants, stay at home pilots and pretenders. These are the dangerous ones. Weekend warriors with wisdom but no wonder. Small failed painters, possessing skills to persuade, to parade into war, later to call upon their mommy to pick them up. Sad small tyrants making claims they can’t fulfill.
