Shibboleths Amongst Us

The Economist treats the value, in fact bases their theory upon the measures of finance, yet holds accountants in low regard. The accountant receives their numbers from a bookkeeper, holding her in hourly restraint. The bookkeeper of old and of now gathers the accounts of clerks, barely educated collectors of facts and coins. We stand on the unwashed hands and over-polished fingernails of the hourly classes so far beneath us. The world of numbers is balanced on marbles. Double entry, double crossed.
