To The Burning Ground: It once was my life

Medal Of Honor for Richard Etchberger:

The base was called Texas. The names given to outposts in Laos. Secured by sheer cliffs but only a few days away from north vietnam. An easy march for the North Vietnamese.

As I write this I have just moved to Texas, flat. That is part of the irony of military jargon.

There will be more of these sotries of places that we never were, but about a hundred of us know better. Maps? Anybody still have the false flight maps we used?

War Is Endless. Without Points. A very odd geometry.

We can’t decline heros to zero.

I wonder why we keep calling them radar bases?
