Just got this in my incoming mail. For those of you who, like myself, are alums of “The Institute”… pass it on if you haven’t already …
Dear Alum,
This year marks the 140th Anniversary of SFAI. It will take place over a span of 16 months beginning with a soft roll out in March. We would like to have our alumni involved in the celebration. Please let us know of any ideas you have for this celebration. Several of the attendees at the New York City reception are thinking of hosting a party. It has been my privilege to meet some of you in Los Angeles and New York City; and I am impressed by your enthusiasm for SFAI.
In my four months on the job, I have found that we have not kept in touch with you as often as we should have, or offered some of the alumni benefits that we might have.
In the next couple of months, SFAI will launch a new web site which will have an Alumni Relations page that will, among other things, feature alumni profiles and a gallery. As we get closer to the roll out, we will tell you more about it. I plan on having more alumni receptions, and am pleased to announce that the next one will be here, in San Francisco, in May. We will be going back to Chicago and Los Angeles, and are looking into the possibility of receptions in Seattle, Washington, D.C. and other cities.
I would also like to hear from you as to what you think the Alumni Relations office should be doing for you. At the end of February we will have a new Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving who will be working with me to give you a responsive Alumni Relations office. We will consider and reply to all of your suggestions and questions.
I hope you will help us connect with other SFAI alums. Any help you can give us to find email and mailing addresses, or connect through Facebook and other social media, is greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.
