Waterboarding, All Wet.

Let’s keep this simple by sticking to the direct facts, the consequential sequence.
Osama was killed by a Navy Seal Team. A bullet to the head, according to those who were there, as well as those who saw it via video link. Period. Direct. Dead on truth of consequences.

Taking the trail back to something 5 years earlier may make you happy to justify your mistaken notions of information, of punishment, of justified sadism… It may do all those things, but that is wrong. Why not go back to earlier triggers? The odd truth is that geo-intelligence software did more to locate the person on the end of the cell phone calls. The name given up under torture was actually NAMES…. plural. More than one.

The scenario used to support the torture as necessary assumes that a fact is already known. “Suppose you have a terrorist who knows the location of the deadly device that will kill thousands of innocent….”
Obviously there is a difference between suspecting and knowing. How is it that you know with such certainty? If you are certain, why don’t you have yet additional means of information, such as the one that provided you near perfect vision of the future.

The old saw about the picture of the suspect: “Why didn’t the guy who took the picture of the crook just keep him, rather than letting him go after posing for his picture.”

Explaining your own mistaken premise is easy, but wrong. In a world made more and more dangerous because of failures of ideas makes it too damned dangerous for us to do anything but damn the conceited who make such arrogant claims.
