Boys Will Do

The year is 2017. We are in Alaska. The Gasline has been finished and gas is flowing. The gas in that line along the highway we are traveling. It tracks the highway for hundreds of miles, within eye sight. It looks gorgeous, so shiny. Shinier than traffic signs or the tractors and airplanes parked alongside the roadway. This is hardy country, full of people with God on their mind and Guns in their trucks.

Honest people that fight.

So imagine that you are a teenaged boy. It is night just after you have won the hockey match. You and your friends, sixpackers in training, are riding along the highway. With no coyotes to shoot, what do you shoot at? The stop sign looks fun, but that glowing steel horizon looks so much better. Besides you can drive along it an practice rapid firing, just as if you were in the Army, defending your country. Besides this might even light up the very long, cold darkness of Alaska.
