I have just made a proposal to the moveon.org political action group. It is a suggestion that there be, and that they sponsor, a concerted public action supporting a Tit For Tat vote agreement between the Citizens and Congress. The promise is:

You vote to get us out of Iraq by the next election, or I vote you out of office at the next election. We are out of Iraq, or you are out of office.

Clear, concise. Of course it can be lawyered senseless, but by being clear, even a Member Of Congress can understand it, and how it affects their future. Please understand me precisely, I mean this as a binary gate. Vote for your Senator or Representative’s opponent it your Congressional Representatives don’t vote to get out of Iraq. Make this as clear to them as we need to make it to the Iraqis.

We lose the big slice by being trapped to the false proposition of Iraq. Maintaining a military presence continues the assumption that this is a US Military solution. It is not. This problem requires an Iraq solution that will not develop until we leave. Schedule the withdrawal and see what happens.

It is a stupid monkey that traps himself by holding firm in his clenched hand the nugget, when all he must do is let the cookie drop and remove his hand from the trap.
