Leopard Lemon

The apple has fallen. Macbook Pro’s loaded with Leopard, the newest Apple operating system, are not coming back from sleep. They drop input from the keyboard. If you use your computer as an entertainment device, you may not notice this. After all, watching videos or listening to tunes doesn’t need a keyboard. That is why we don’t put keyboards on our stereos or TVs. If you use your computer for, let us say, typing, then color the Leopard yellow and you sucker green.

I reported this many weeks ago, others are concurring. Meanwhile patches have come, but failed. Fixes are being offered, but also fail… No fix works for more than a few days. About a half dozen cycles of sleep and the Leopard dies.

Reseting memory doesn’t fix the issue. Some have suggested that the problem is because of “spotlight”, I believe that it is related to “time machine”.Of course, the ultimate irony will be that it is because of the on-board “jobsian hubris” chip that sits on every Apple’s shoulder.

Here comes the advice part:

Don’t let your Leopard sleep, son,
keep it on the run, son,
else it won’t be fun, son.
Don’t let your Leopard sleep.
