Short Cuts In San Francisco

We took a short cut toward 3rd after leaving the SFMOMA. There is an alley, Minna, that seems too short and narrow to be a road, but it has two galleries that you should stop by. Or at least window shop.

This last time I saw well done large format platinum prints on display at Chandler (170 Minna Street). If you want to see contemporary platinum prints, skillfully done look at the work of Michael Leary. The photography exhibit is paired with a painting exhibit which holds more interest to my eye. Both shows are through April 10, 2010.

slow cooked photos…

the amount of work. the cycle time between sessions. Like other feedback systems, if it is too fast, you get noise, only a sharp squeal. If it is too slow, you get no gain. nothing is amplified. the energy remains flat, just wasting away to heat, keeping the circuits warm, without any outer purpose.
