A note to the marines, the special forces, even our weekend force. You wear a uniform, carry a gun and claim a privilege. You type, cook, change tires, and kill so that you can claim honor. You do these things so that you have money, maybe college. You do the things you do out of duty, by order. You do this to defend, or do you do this from some other impulse?

You can not defend us while you condemn us. If you are tempted, just tempted to hate us, then you are not, and never were, fighting in our name.

If you fight us, you can not fight for us.

We are the citizens, you are the soldiers. It is you that serve us. So, as movie heros say, “just shut up or say thank you, but take your post. The enemy is that way, not this.”

Al Qaeda For McCain

The question can be asked, is it good for the Republicans if there is an attack on America? This is quickly followed with a, God forbid, though I don’t know why, he didn’t stop September 11, oh so long ago.

Under our Republican country, Al Qaeda has gained more territory. Garnered more prestige, with little cost. Sounds like they have the advantage. They have marched out from the poppy fields to topple Iraq. Destabilize Pakistan. Stir conflict between the US and its allies, making way for another super conflict. They used to preach in small self funded religious schools, now they are talked about in our Senate, worldwide chambers of power. They are written about by serious scholars. Talks shows publish their manifesto of fear. In seven years they have taken on the US. In seven years they have moved from the stone age, from the cave to taking part in the stability of three countries.

Scare the elephant. Have him crush your enemy.

When to attack is the only question. Too soon and you waste the effect. I think not this election. Wait to see if you’ve won again anyway.
