the people, positions and characters depicted as flat and cartoonish, by the Mad Men writers are the hip — those changing that world. Or trying to change their way in the world.

The writers of mad men have taken to cartoons in season seven. even the photography, in moving cars, movement is different from the passenger or driver side. the green screen of cartoons takes over, with repeating trees and brush.
talk about cheeping out the b roll; you got it.
the writers of MM, clearly don’t get what the 60s was; though they certainly understand the 50s and its recycling. this is a non existent past, being held as approximation… and it shouldn’t have been difficult to get it right.
