– to skip chip check:

1. Close your printer.
2. Press these three buttons “Paper Source”,”Paper
   Feed(forward)”and “Enter(Cut/Eject)” in the same time, and then Power on. You
   will enter “Maintenance mode 2”

3. In this mode,the LED of printer operation board will display
   “VIEW COUNTERS”.

4. Press “Paper Feed(forward)” button twice, you will find “SERVICE CONFIG”, press “Selec Type” button, to enter the menu for adjustment.
5. Press “Paper Feed(forward)” to find this item — EDMODE, then press “Selec Type” botton to enter. In this item ,there are three modes for choosing — “X”,”N” and “O”.
6. Press “Paper Feed(forward)” button to change the mode, then press “Enter” button,
   the sign “*” will display in front of “O”. Close the printer.

7. Power the printer normally. You should see that all cartridges display full. This means that you have been successful in closing the cartridge chip check.

whatever you first think of doing, don’t. do the opposite.

Use sheets of black plastic to line the walls. the stuff used in gardens to cover the ground is best. just tape or staple it loosely to the walls around the enlarger. this will snag the dust, while eliminating direct reflections of the light from the enlarger. it also is easy to clean or replace. Dexter’s place as a possible place for your darkest work…. heh, heh, heh….

Printmaking paper is termed Hot or Cold press to distinguish the finish. Hot means smooth, while Cold means more tooth or texture. This press finish is like the difference in your skin between being hot or cold. Cold means bumps, hot means smooth.
