Odd numbers: a point revealed by beer and spirits sales. You can locate large universities or military bases by the spiked volumes consumed per population. Soldiers and students drink alcohol in distinctly larger amount than the baseline population. We can also locate military retirees from other retirees by the type of booze sold to a region. Now this is having fun.

The Empty Handled Warrior
the planes take off, with a roar… its all over now, in my ears… no longer empty handed… war always ends. war always ends the same way. war always ends in death. we just don’t know who’s or when… flying out of saigon, i’m gone. taking it all back home.
McCain Question
“I’m proud of my record of service, and I have plenty of friends and leaders who will attest to that,” McCain said.(June 30, 2008)
Senator McCain, it isn’t your record of service as a fighter pilot and prisoner of war that should be examined. It is how that qualifies you as President. Presidents should not be elected as a reward for combat service. The president is not being judged by their kill record, nor how well they endured torture or pain. No senator, the president is being asked to decide and lead others. To lead without need for revenge, or remorse.
My ideal candidate has a larger vocabulary than “Hoo hrah” and eats more than apple pie. My ideal candidate has accomplished more than being a prisoner of war. My ideal candidate is not so committed to militarism that he can not think no other answer.
Obviously I haven’t had a candidate in an election in my lifetime. The ideal candidates do not run for office.
