It began as a sorting machine, a counting machine and enlarged its use as an aid to accountants. As software for the home it was a typewriter, an “electric pencil” that at first was hooked up to the TV. It has now rewound itself to being the machine hooked to the TV and intended to supplant it. First comes the transplant.

The artist is a better critic than the critic, while also being a better artist than the critic can ever be. The demonstration of this is in the Richard Serra 6/6/07 appearance on Charlie Rose. The contrast between the Artist speaking and the Critics speaking segments demonstrate the point.
