Ad Driven Culture
Even though the hula hoop always falls to the ground, ads drive attitude. No one uses turn signals, even though they aren’t driving in the jungle. The use of signals was wide spread throughout the US, but twenty years ago an SUV commercial ran. The scene was a muddy road, the dirty SUV slogging through, and the driver had used a turn signal. The female voice over saying this must be her husband driving, since she doesn’t use the signal in the jungle… A change in signal, marks out change.
