digital is easier. it is the dominant form of taking, and making.
people have an absurdly strong desire to do things the easiest way. ever wonder, really, how hard making pasta sauce is?
how about salad dressing; or a sandwich, yet daily billions are spent on some fast food, which isn’t fast, and is barely food, not because it is fast, but because it seems easy.
digital printing is far easier than darkroom printing. easier, and faster, meaning that for some very small set, they can make a print that is better than a very skilled darkroom printer. That probably isn’t you, in either case.
with enough age
you don’t have to care about what is supposed to be done, after you made enough work, and lived enough life. fads are for those still forming themselves. fashion is for those who haven’t a thought of what to, or where.
what collectors want
collectors buy prestige. mostly. some buy access; access to a perceived creative class. many of the money class, buy as investment. hell, they even marry as an investment. donald trump sure didn’t shop beyond cup size; clearly his wives haven’t sought more than wallet size.
current art world is an adjunct to regains dreamscape. we are living in the nightmare land of Ayn Rand. just hope you don’t wake up pissing blood.
