Making Money Making Pictures

Do you take pictures of things you like. Only?
Do people who make pictures like your pictures?
Can you take pictures of things you don’t like? Do you like those pictures, but not those things?
Are you bored thinking about this? Insulted that I’m asking? Confused about what this may mean?
Can you name 5 people who make pictures you like?
Would you like to talk with them? Do you know why you haven’t?

If you don’t enjoy making pictures of things you don’t enjoy, or if you can’t make those pictures interesting, then you can’t make money as a photographer.

The photographs have to be useful. This doesn’t mean, sharp, clear, bright, brilliant… it doesn’t necessarily mean those things, though to most people who buy pictures it does mean that, and usually at the low pay end of the swamp, that is all it means.

PSD Means

PSD: PhotoShop is Dead.
It is now common to see update failures with PS6. Adobe can no longer provide reliable support. Of course, they don’t want to support products other than cloud, so it is unlikely they will fix their patch system. Their advice is to do the uninstall/reinstall dance. You did buy the CD version, right?

War Is Unstable

War is unstable; business is just childish war play. A tug of war, with only losers.
Business changes. Changes the society outside, and the people within.
Notes remembering the Kodak visit; the notebook; the missed opportunity.
