the first reactions fall into three styles. Flee. Cover. Attack.
Those who flee are easy targets. They die. Those who cover, as long as they seek a target, survive. Those who attack, draw fire, probably to die, but they give those under cover a chance to engage a target.
Advice: drop, find, fire.
