CATO Firestorm

If crashes are good.

The argument is made by “Fixcal Conservatives” and K Street Knitters that crashes are essential. The nature of a free market is punishment. At its core their attitude is that those who stayed in the scheme too long should be punished. Haven’t you ever played musical chairs? Don’t dance too long. Don’t count on one chair. Be prepared to grab and shove to get yours. The maxims your mommy taught during K school.

Hear the chorus changing theme. Softly turning the phrases in their hymnal from “earn baby earn” to “burn baby burn.” So sweet these cherubs. So long sweet street. The bird, the bards, the bodies float down wall street.

Crash Time

If the CATO’tonic is correct in holding that crashes are good, that growth demands it, then maybe the government should cause them. Or, in some views, cause more of them.

Please turn your hymnal to page 874. A little fire out on the prairie. Glowing homes across our land. Burning burning burning keep those fires a burning, don’t hide. no need for bailout, I’m in my boat, I’m all out. Keep those fires a burning, keep those pages turning. donations keep me earning, don’t hide.
