But, does anybody use this stuff? We got another case of 8×10 sheet film. Smaller quantity than just a year ago, let alone 3 years ago. Only a dozen boxes of film, and that will be enough for at least another year. Only a year ago we were using this much film every quarter. Three years ago — I think we were supporting Ilford’s 8×10 business.
The prices are up, and going higher, so we made a stock-up purchase.
Kodak, a year ago, made 8×10 film a special order item. I think they will only be doing that another few times. At some point they will use their existing stock of boxes and materials from third parties. When that happens, they will have to meet minimums from suppliers. I think that at that time Kodak will stop taking special orders and film, at least sheet film, will be ended.
The yellow god will no longer be able to keep you supplied. Even poppies don’t bloom through all seasons.
