The original recipe was given by Agfa Rodinal for good reason over 50 years of secrecy. When in 1945 the Allies plundered the Agfa plant in Wolfen, they also fell into the hands of the recipe. The report of the Combined Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee, you can read it since then:

Water 75 ml
5.5 g of p-aminophenol
Potassium sicc. 4 g
4 g of potassium hydroxide
1 g of potassium bromide
Na4EDTA 2 g
Water to 100 ml
Today would be due to the better qualities rather free p-aminophenol hydrochloride and no use. The potassium hydroxide is dissolved at the first best in 4 ml of water and put it on then. Until now in an alkaline medium, is dissolved in it, the p-aminophenol.
