Most poses are unnatural; modeled after angles from the disco era. People make the distinction between a stance and a pose. The greater the difference, the stronger their feeling that they are posing, hence, modeling. The danger is that they look broken. Most models, indeed, most photographers think that this dance-gynmnast-like look is what equals expression.

When people don’t understand the photograph, they ask what the story is.
Too often, people require a story … expecting that any reality, has an easily translated meaning — meaning words.
