Slow Boat Photo

The photography industry operates slowly. I constantly find the order processing of vendors to be horrid. Unfortunately, no company offers better speed of delivery, nor more efficient fulfillment … The latest example.

  1. Place order on Thu. Choose 3Day UPS.
  2. Fri vendor ships order.
  3. Delivery expected Wed.

Of course this 3 day service takes 5 days, but that isn’t the photo suppliers fault, right? The worse thing is that the equipment will be handled over the weekend, moved, stored and moved again for the full five days. It is a bad, but persistent problem. One that lowers the quality expectations of this industry. It acts as though there is no need to live with creative energy, focused urgency.

More S&H

I’ve, unfortunately, yet another post (YAP) about people who make money using shipping and handling fees… worse are those people so dependent upon small change they have to charge S&H, like little collections of stamps and coinage will make or lose their daily bread. Oh well, this person needs 3 dollars to ship a 40 dollar package. I will send it, although I would feel better giving it to the bum by the church door across from my train stop.

People who are forced to make a living charging Shipping & Handling should be forced to live their hellish petty economic lives wearing brown.

I have half a mind to charge her the postage and handling I’ve spent on placing the order with deer(int) Seigel, editrix…. hmm, now there’s a thought.
