Wild Willbilly

she talks more than she thinks. a trait learned by watching TV, by being a commodity. not odd that she has no originality of thought or word. how could she be a govenor. how could she lead us. she showed us our temptation. tempted by TV into believing in TV talk as thought. the talkers as thinkers. regular talk. friendster like. like us. we could be the next american president, in our idle moments. she bet we would. she bets still that we will. a willbilly from nowhere.

If you know her name, then you know I’m right.

WWII Saved Us From Depression

Amity Shlaes has a book, “The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression” the key part of which, is the subend “A New History.” The gist of this new, but very popular herstory, is that the Depression ended because of World War II, aka, “the big one.” So the next time you see her, or if you hear someone repeat this reversioning of the story, ask them:

Isn’t it great that World War Two came along to save us. Otherwise, ya know, we would still be in the great depression. Oh calamity!
