Capital Capitol

the catchalls and catechisms of corporatists and capitalists
the stand down, step asiders of our academic sideline
sidestepping or two stepping our way toward… making stutter steps, staggering on a drunkards waltz.
the dancers of D.C. (Denatured Capitalism) drunkards on the avenues of capita/ol city.
the tango of terror and timidity…
mythologize over bugles and lies

The Relay

Generation to generation, it passes on, hand to hand, old to young, one by one. From ’58 to ’68, unto ’08. Fear of communists to fear of terrorists. From Here To Eternity, thru fear for eternity. The bridge is rusting, as the river is rushing and splashing drops onto our aging pylons.

Ad Driven Culture

Even though the hula hoop always falls to the ground, ads drive attitude. No one uses turn signals, even though they aren’t driving in the jungle. The use of signals was wide spread throughout the US, but twenty years ago an SUV commercial ran. The scene was a muddy road, the dirty SUV slogging through, and the driver had used a turn signal. The female voice over saying this must be her husband driving, since she doesn’t use the signal in the jungle… A change in signal, marks out change.
