after stripping your camera down, use denatured alcohol to remove the grit and old grease. use an old toothbrush, to really scrub and also q tips and rags as needed.
using a clean model airplane size paint brush (testors #1) apply a very conservative amount of the sinar grease to the gear mechanism. not to much, or it will attract all the sand and dirt again.
