If you pay me more than [ I / it] is worth, I do it / you may have it.
If I pay you more than [ you / it] is worth, you do it / I may have it.
the exchange of number for thing is its own paradox
Why do we ever achieve coordination, or do we?

I have respect for those people making a living producing prints for the walls of galleries and collectors. Dan Burkholder is one of the first names I discovered searching contemporary digital negatives and alt printing (platinum/palladium). Last summer I saw some of his plats on parchment that was backed by gold leaf. The week or so after seeing them, I happened upon this window display in San Francisco.
I have just seen a notice that Dan is exhibiting at the John Cleary Gallery thru May 30, 2009. His prints sell at $1,200 to $2,600. The print in the Chinatown window sold for $85. Framed. Good thing that the market for gold foil hasn’t been outsourced.
