Attorneys often play chicken. After all, their profit is by the hour. Much like a ditch digger or gold digger. The longer they take, the more you pay.

I’m watching this play out now between two firms that were once as close as thieves. And like all such bonds, this too is ending with the details of an acrimonious matirmonius ceremonious. Pardon my un-satin latin.

Most bluffing games end in crying games. Just ask one of the grand bluffers of this decade, Saddam Hussein.

Studio Tables

Studio Tables – gatherings of artists, held 2 or 3 times a month – sometimes they’re via conference phone, always energized by recent readings or gallery trips. They require travel on the part of most participants, some of whom are still working so are less frequently in person. I started calling friends about 17 years ago inviting them to visit… and so it began.

Bowls of soup, loaves of bread, mounds of salad – an entire evening spent talking about art, process, problem, and product.

You may not be able to make friends with salad, but you can make art.
