N-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)glycine (glycin) is synthesized by reacting p-aminophenol with chloroacetic acid. Glycin, if made using pure regents in a clean, precise method, lasts at room temperature for several years. Kodak brand glycin, “Kodurol”, [alt, Athenon]is still light color after 40 years in storage.
